GDPR

The General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), came into effect on 25th May 2018. The GDPR gives individuals more control over how their data is used and places certain obligations on businesses and organisations that process information held about those individuals.

The regulation contains 6 principles:

  • Personal data should be processed fairly, lawfully and in a transparent manner.
  • Data should be obtained for specified and lawful purposes and not further processed in a manner that is incompatible with those purposes.
  • The data should be adequate, relevant and not excessive.
  • The data should be accurate and where necessary kept up to date.
  • Data should not be kept for longer than necessary.
  • Data should be kept secure.

Your privacy is important to us and for the avoidance of doubt if you sign up to become a member of The Peffery Way Association we will not share your personal information with third parties and your details will be held securely.  However, if we gather information or data ourselves that is required for the purposes of the organisation (i.e. to develop, design, build and maintain the path) we may hold and share that information or data but only in a way that is compatible with those purposes.

What information do we collect?

The personal data we hold relates to three categories or groups of people:

  • Members who have joined the Association and wish to be kept aware of our activities
  • People who have expressed an interest in being kept aware of our activities but do not wish to become members, and
  • People in whom we have a legitimate interest.

Use of personal data

The personal data we hold about members will be used to maintain contact, communicate and disseminate information.

 

Data held

The data that we hold may consist of the following:

  • Name
  • Business/organisation/home address
  • Post code
  • Telephone number(s)
  • Email address
  • Other data that is relevant to the legitimate interests of the Association.

Under Article 6 (1) f of the GDPR, the Peffery Way Association may gather personal data required to further its legitimate purposes. The right to withdraw consent mentioned above does not apply to such information or data.  The Association may continue to hold and share that data providing it is required for the legitimate purposes of the organisation and any sharing is done in a way that is compatible with those purposes.

Disclosure

The Peffery Way Association will not pass on, share or trade personal data provided by those seeking membership of the Association with any person or organisation without receiving your consent. Under no circumstances will The Peffery Way Association sell your information to third parties or advertisers.

What rights you have over your data

You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you.
